Quality Control Engineer

Summary

Provide quality control engineering during manufacturing to ensure products are built in accordance with customer and company specifications and quality requirements. 

Responsibilities

  • Investigate production line and/or field claims by reviewing quality trends, tracking the root cause of problems, coordinating corrective actions, and implementing appropriate adjustments.
  • Support new model launch events (Prepare PPAP, APQP docs etc. as required).
  • Interact with customers to prevent quality problems prior to mass production; ensure quality requirements are met on all of products.
  • Resolve customer inquiries to satisfaction in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with various levels of associates in the Production, Engineering, Materials, and Planning Departments to prevent and/or remedy quality problems.
  • Identify, study, and recommend new programs/processes to improve quality. Review quality trends to prevent or reduce defects.
  • Support IATF-16949 certification, perform internal audits, and participate in annual third party certification audit sessions.  INDSJ

Qualifications

  • Bachelors' degree in Quality, Engineering, or related area, OR Associates' degree and 3 years of related experience, OR equivalent in relevant experience.
  • Quality control experience in industrial manufacturing or related manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of statistics and statistical process control.
  • Knowledge of quality control, engineering, metrology, and production methods.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and documents.
  • Computer literate, Microsoft Office.
