Manufacturing Maintenance Technician - Level 1

Machine Technicians work as a team to repair, maintain, and adjust assigned production machinery and equipment, keeping them functional and in safe working order to support daily production operations.


  • Assist/train with machine  adjustments, repairs, changeovers, start-ups, as needed to ensure quality of parts and required efficiencies.
  • Troubleshoot  basic electrical machine issues, including AC/DC theory, motors, relay logic, wiring, use of multi-meter, various components and associated wiring. 
  • Monitor PLCs to determine root cause, use electrical schematics and basic HMI knowledge. Make small PLC programming modifications as required to maintain and or improve processes.  May troubleshoot servo issues.
  • Troubleshoot basic mechanical machine issues (excluding repairs requiring use of manual mill, lathe, welding equipment).  
  • Perform record-keeping duties to document maintenance schedules, work orders, purchases and inventories.
  • Utilize safely various tools such as drill, tap, slide hammer, gear puller, shear, brake, drill press, feeler gauges.
  • Repair mechanical devices including bearings, shafts, springs, couplings, gears, clutches, bushings, cams, chains, belts.
  • Utilize detailed machine and assembly drawings, and learn A3 (8-step) method for troubleshooting root cause on difficult issues.


  • High school diploma or GED 
  • Minimum of  2-3 years  high speed manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with machine maintenance and diagnostic/troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with safety precautions such as Lock-out/Tag-out, Arc Flash protection, welding, and personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and other machinery.
  • Computer literate.
  • Associates degree or additional training in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering helpful but not required.
