Summary
Performs electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic electrical and/or mechanical support to the manufacturing operation.
- Troubleshoot basic mechanical issues of mechanical devices including bearings, shafts, springs, couplings, gears, clutches, bushings, cams, chains, belts.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues including ac/dc theory, motors, relay logic, wiring, use of multi-meter, various components and associated wiring.
- Assist with machine changeovers, start-ups, adjustments, and repairs as needed to ensure quality of parts and required efficiencies.
- Perform record-keeping duties to document maintenance schedules, work orders, purchases, and inventories.
- Place purchase orders as necessary to maintain and improve machine condition.
- Follow all safety processes and procedures, including lock-out/tag-out and PPE.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; pursuit of an associates degree, or enrolled in a dedicated program in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
- Familiarity with safety precautions such as Lock-out/Tag-out, Arc Flash protection, welding, and personal protective equipment.
- Computer literate.
- Proficient with various hand tools such as a drill, tap, slide hammer, gear puller, shear, brake, drill press and feeler gauges.
- Knowledge in basic electric theory and learning ac/dc theory, motors, relay logic, wiring, use of multi-meter, various components and associated wiring.
- Knowledge of PLC controls, including monitoring PLC programs to determine root cause, along with use of electrical schematics.
- Ability to read detailed and assembly drawings and perform repair or assemble devices.
- Knowledge of basic fluid power devices.
- Understanding of basic principles of hydraulics and pneumatics, interpreting associated schematics, and theory and repair of cylinders, solenoids, flow/pressure/directional valves.
- Knowledge of cycle time, parts per hour (PPH), and efficiency and how they negatively affect line productivity.
